Question:

Cat Concern...not feeling well today.

I`m leaving on vacation tomorroow..I`m concerned about my cat, who is happily part of my household. Sorry for the yucky details, but perhaps someone can answer my question. She vomited twice this evening (bit of food, mostly liquid) and has been poopin` liquid. She didn`t eat much today. She is almost a year old and hasn`t vommited since she was a small kitten, about 3/4 months years old. She has recently been vaccinated, dewormed and all the necessary precautions. Is it normal for this to happen occasionally? Do I have to be concerned, may it mean she`s just not feeling well? Your help is very much appreciated. Any advice would be great. Thanks.

  1. Take her to the Vets ASAP because vomitting and diarrhoea can cause dehydration. She obviously is not ok because it is not normal for cats to vomit and pass liquid stool.

  2. get her to vets today. or you wont enjoy your vacation cos of worry. also if shes going to a cattery they need to know so she can go into isolation.

  3. I would keep an eye on her and if she has not recovered by tomorrow (i.e. if her stool is still not solid and she is vomiting) then take her to the vet as soon as possible. In the mean time, make sure she gets lots of liquid as she will be losing it quickly and this could be fatal if she gets too dehydrated. Has she been eating and drinking normally? I wouldn't advise leaving on vacation and assuming she'll be okay- her condition could get from bad to worse quickly. Good luck. I hope this helped.
