Just wondering. Our cat is being very noisy and has been pacing a lot. She will come up to us and let us pet her some and is quit while we do that. But she doesn't stick around to long before she is off and pacing again. My wife figured she is due to have them anytime, but is this what happens when a cat is in labor? We locked her in the laundry room with clean sheets, water and food, any suggestions? Thanks for any help.

  1. Why did you lock her in the laundry room. She apparently wants you around. She is uncomfortable and is going to deliver tonight or tomorrow probably.

Get a good sized box, cut a opening on the side so she can exit and enter easily without needing to jump over the side.Place clean rags or old towels down so that she has some padding in the box. Have extra because they will need to be changed the next day after delivery.  The best place to put it is in the back of your closet so she feels secure and away from foot traffic. You can watch the kittens be born if she is not skittish. You should be able to tell by her actions. Some cats actually like someone near, others prefer to be alone. Make sure that her delivery is going smoothly. If any problems arise, have the vets number ready. If she has them after regular hours make sure you have the number of an emergency 24 hr vets office. Enjoy the kittens.

  2. Keep her in the laundry room so you can watch her for any signs of problems. Most cats do just fine and don't need any help delivering kittens. They will try to hide them different places if you let her out in the house. After this PLEASE get her spayed right away!

  3. my suggestion is to GET YOUR CAT SPAYED

  4. my cat had 5 kittens a month ago   sounds like she is getting ready  if you can be there to experience it its amazing   I unfortunately was leaving for work when kaylee went into labor ,bot my 16 year old daughter watched ! she was so awwed  good luck I'm sure everything will be just fine!

  5. You NEED to be with her during the process. A kitten may need some help out. You never know. So just make sure that your there to help.
