Cat acts strange around cell phone?

Question

when I play with my cell phone ring tones my cat comes running and starts purring really loud. And when he does he lets out a weird meow I never heard. And sometimes he tries to chew on it as hes rubbing on it. Its this something weird? He don't seem un happy about it.But It makes me wonder if the tones are making him act that way because it hurts his ears. It's just so weird he gets so affectionate when he hears them. Has anyone ever heard of this? Or maybe have any info let me know. As we speak since I just got a call the cats sitting by me and is trying to lay on my keyboard/ and trying to move my mouse

My cats do the exact same thing when I use the speakerphone!  They bite the phone too.  Cats do so many crazy things!
