my cat holly has recently made a new friend, for more than a month now she goes out every night, and plays with a mouse, the thing is tiny and shes a pretty fat cat. its amazing to watch! but is it normal? yes my cat has the most kindest nature, but she has killed and eaten mice and birds before, but for some reason, not this one. she picks it up and Carry's it around, puts its down and they chase each other! ive called him mr jingles :P like of the green mile, the mouse isn't afraid of me either, ive stroked it and even got some close up pictures on my camera, i must admit the little things a confident maybe even cocky creature! has anyone seen this before? i think its amazing!

  1. I think your lying, I doubt a mouse has the mental capacity to befriend a cat.

  2. just let them be mates. its gud for a cat to hav mates

  3. i have seen this before. most likely the mouse used to be someone's pet and it ran away or was abandoned, otherwise it wouldn't get close to you.

  4. That's amazing.  I have no idea why your cat has befriended this mouse, but it's not the first time that a predatory animal has not harmed a prey animal.  In 2002 a lioness in Kenya kept adopting baby Orynx calves, and even grieved for them when they were killed by another lion.

An orphaned baby hippo was adopted by a giant tortoise.

Nature is a wonderful thing sometimes.

  5. Uff...this is quite a story. You should film them both playing and post it on youtube. You'll get a million views in a week. I personally have seen something similar with my cat Abby. He loves to chase lizards, so one day my husband got one for him. The cat played with the thing instead of hurting it. The lizard got scared and didn't move after 3 minutes of being tossed by my cat, but he was just playing gently. He didn't want to kill that lizard. He has killed some before but this one he just liked very much I guess.

It may be that mouse doesn't quite have the scent that tells her it is food; but it isn't rare to see this combination living peacefully.

  6. Get the whole d**n thing on video and post on U Tube I want to see it!!!!
