  1. how about if you get off the computer for a minute and call a vet and ask them.  there is probably an overnight emergency vet in your area if not here is the number to an after hours small animal emergency clinic in lubbock texas 1-806-797-6483.  they can tell you if it is toxic and what to do if so.

  2. Vitamin E generally isn't toxic.  In fact, many vets actually recommend supplementing with essential fatty acids, vitamin E and vitamin A for certain skin conditions and there is some evidence that these vitamins may also be useful when dealing with swelling associated with arthritis.  Because vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin and excess is stored by the body there is a risk of getting too much vitamin E and causing a vitamin toxicity (because unlike water-soluble vitamins such as vitamin C the body can't simply flush excess through the urine) but that is generally a risk that is associated with extended exposure...one "overdose" is not likely to cause any problems at all.

  3. A vitamin E supplement will not be toxic to your cat. Although the cat weighs a great deal less than humans, whom the vitamins are intended for, it isn't nearly enough to yield harmful effects on the animal. Keep an eye on him/her, but don't panic; this is not a toxin for any mammals.

  4. Keep an eye on the cat, if he shows any changes - then take him to the vet immediately.  Meanwhile, just watch him carefully for the next 48 hours.
