Cat behavior change?

Question

The only thing i can think of is that he really wants attention. He follows me everywhere in the house and begs for attention.

A couple days ago my dad left for work and he'll be gone for the week. Could this be the cause why my cat is following me and begging for attention?

since your dad was probably home all the time before he probably petted the cat a lot. now, when your dad is gone the cat still wants the same attention he got with your dad. its only temporary until your dad gets back home to take care of him once again. enjoy it while you can

Hi there, Yes, I've had a a similar thing with me new-ish kitten. He's lonely and missing your dad and you're a substitute papa.

I would lavish attention and love on him as much as you can - but to a point Don't over indulge him. Boundaries are important too -  it depends on what you can cope with for a whole week!  

But, as far as I can tell from what you've described, there's nothing serious or irreversible wrong with him.

probably. make a time when you can give the cat a least an hour of attention.

Take your dads place while he's gone... sit and pet the cat and talk to it...
