Question:

Cat bit and chewed? bonding or to dominate me?

was playing with my cat and sometimes he gives those love bites when he's had enough, we were petting and he was purring, when he bit me he started to chew down on the flesh and was grinding his teeth through to the bone, he was REALLY enjoying it, and wouldnt stop, it hurt so i told him no, but he gave me a funny look and carried on..it was weird hasnt done it before, i felt like a bone to him!!?

  1. its an intolerance to petting and also sounds like play biting. there is lots of info on these links! you should definitely check them out!

    one of my cats is the same. she is intolerant to being stroked on her belly or lower back. she will be purring away but after a couple of mins i have teeth sunk in my hand!

    also if you play with the kitten with your hand alot, he thinks its a toy and will bite it..... kittens don't know that human skin isnt as tough as there brothers and sisters they liked to play with.

  2. My kitten does the same thing if i pet her too much or pet her belly.  i really have no clue what that means.  maybe he was saying "im tired of you petting me" ?
