Yesterday, my friend's savannah cat scared the living daylights out of (and tried to eat) the neighbor's quite sizeable labrador retriever. What other breeds of cat are known to scare dogs?

  1.    I don't know of specific breeds, though I've known a few cats that the dogs in the neighborhood like you wouldn't believe.

The first was our dsh black cat, Midnight. He lived with my grandmother, walked everywhere with her and would wait outsides stores or the post office while she was inside, then walk her home. We actually observed dogs crossing the street to avoid walking on Midnight's sidewalk if he was outside.

The other was a neighbor's cat. I think he was an oversized dhs, but he was as large as a Maine Coon Cat just not long-haired. I never saw the evidence, can only relate what the neighbors said.

  2. I pet sat a 5+yrs old  Abyssinian and there 13+years dog who is Australian Shepard mix with boarder colly. I saw the cat pass the dog and starting biting the dog because he was in its way. I was afraid that the cat was going to claw my face up in the middle of the night he was that mean. I think it can just be the cats personality.

  3. We would not have believed it if we had'nt seen it happen, but my sister's ELDERLY cat ran off a pit bull.  And after he was in retreat, she kept after him!

  4. my cat scared the daylight out of our neighbor's golden retriever to!!! are cat is a plane black cat. Dose that help you at all?

  5. Tigers, leopards, jaguars, panthers, cheetahs  - there are a few......

  6. I think it depends on the size of the dog and the individual cat. We have an orange tabby who terrorizes our german shepard mix who's about 65 pounds.
