As a kitten, my cat was fine to travel, so much so that when i relocated to Anglesey from Cornwall he was asleep on seat next to me the whole way. Since then, however, whenever he travels (eg to the vet) he is ok for around 10 minutes then starts to drool quite badly, often eventually being sick. I used to give him ginger tablets which dont seem to have any effect anymore. Anyone got any tips?.. its really upsetting to see :( oh and he does travel in a carrier, but on that particular occasion was happier asleep on the seat.

  1. Just don't feed him before travelling. Mine throws up too, so that's what I do. And carry wet wipes with you, in case there is an accident.

  2. keep the windows open, a cool breeze will help your cat feel more at eeze

  3. First of all don't open the car windows. Bad idea there. They are little escape artists and that open window would be an open invitation  for him to get out of his situation which is a cats first instinct.

There are many meds on the market for this problem. Ask your vet

  4. you can either try placing the carrier on the ground of the car and not to see the motion and the moving scenes, or place the carrier high facing the front wind shield.

try both ways and see which one works fine with him

    check these two links:

    Good luck

  5. It´s heat , most likely. Even though you have the AC on, it´s too hot for the cat; best is avoid carrying it in the car during summer time and if you can´t avoid it, then fen him during drive and/or try keep him out of the transporter.

  6. this happens because some cats have problem with long travels the reason why they get car sick is because there not use to moving inside a car. the only way your cat can be comfy is get cat tablets that is called; burlingdon witch that helps for long trips.

and also make sure u sit at the front with your pet and open the window and make it look outside the window.

    goood luck.
