  1. Take her to the vet.  She either has an ear infection or possibly ear mites.  You need to get it treated right away or she will develop other problems.

The sooner you get it taken care of, the cheaper and the easier it will be.

    Good luck!

  2. If the odor from the cat ears are really that bad, get her to a vet ASAP. It is more than just ear mites. It sounds like a bad infection which will take medications from the vet to cure. The vet might also want to sedate her to thoroughly clear out her ears. Infections smell, and the worse the infection the worse the smell. Have the vet show you how you can clean her ears at home it the future.

  3. Clean her ears!  It's not that difficult to do.  Just get some pet ear wipes at the pet store.  Wrap your little finger, and use it to wipe down in the ear, and get as much of the "gunk" out as you can.  While pulling her ear up (straight) GENTLY, use a Q-tip to get the "gunk" out of the folds of the ear.  BE VERY CAREFUL, and don't go too deep....just do what's easily seen.

If her ears are really bad, it make take a few wipes and a number of Q-tips......but it's worth it.  She may not like this, if she's never had her ears cleaned, so she may squirm......just hold on, talk quietly to her, and get it done!

After dong this, her ears should smell AND FEEL better.  If you suspect earmites, get some of the earmite meds and doctor the ears after you clean them.

If you clean them regularly.....every couple of weeks........you shouldn't have this problem again.

    Good luck...............

  4. Before taking her to the vet, just get ear cleaner (for cats) and use it morning and evening and see if this helps.

She could have ear mites and they cause this and the special cleaner gets rid of the mites and the odor.  Be specific when you look for it at the pet supply.

  5. Definitely sounds like an infection. My dogs ears get really smelly when she has a yeast infection in her ears (gross, I know!). Take her to the vet, he'll give you some medicine to fix her. I know my dog's medicine is pretty cheap, so if it definitely is a yeast infection it doesn't cost much to treat. Good luck!

  6. take her to the vet of course-sounds like she has infected ears so will need treatment. whatever you do, don't try and clean them yourself-it could make things worse or damage her ears-they need professional cleaning

  7. Take your cat to the vet ASAP! Ears that smell that bad indicate infection. It is painful for the cat and can lead to more serious problems if not treated. Your vet will probably prescribe antibiotics. One of my 5 cats had an ear infection a few months ago and the odor was foul! He was obviously in pain. As soon as I started giving him oral antibiotics, he began to improve...no odor or pain. He completed the course of antibiotic treatment and has been fine ever since.
