Cat has itchy eye, what could it be?

Hi I have a ine year old cat and woke this morning to one of his eyes being swollen and itchy. any ideas what this could be?

possibly an infection or allergic reaction. take to the vet asap before it gets even worse.

He could have gotten a nasty bite from some kind of insects or an allergic reaction to his food or medications. If he is weeping, it indicates a nasty infection. You need to get him medical attention before it gets worse.
