My 6 year male cat is becoming thin, although he eats a every chance, I keep dry food out all the time and give moist usually 1x day.

I have 2 other female cats, fine health. He also licks his fur and has , it seems , made it very thin on sides of abdomen and under belly only.

I haven't had him to the vet yet for this, he has not been wormed in a few months, although he does get outside, but he is an indoor cat.

trying to figure this out.

  1. Your kitty really does need to see a vet as soon as you can.  If he has not been neutered, you should talk to your vet about this.  Try to keep him home, even visiting the great outdoors now and then exposes him to many diseases.

    Good Luck!

  2. I'm not sure what the problem would be, especially since he's not all that old, but I know kidney problems cause weight loss.  If he's eating a lot and is losing weight, you'd better take him to the vet ASAP.  They can do tests and look him over to see what's wrong with him and hopefully help him get better.
