Question:

Cat owners will appreciate this...?

I found some tiny black specks on my cat and kept an eye on her, then saw a flea. (I haven't seen any in the apt.) Of course, it's Sunday so the vet is closed and I'll have to wait until after work on Monday to get some Frontline. In the meantime, I thought I may try some otc powder or something and go to the store. I was reading the directions on a foam flea dip product that says "immerse cat in water, lather foam throughout fur and let sit for five minutes." Ok, so here's my question: On What Planet Do These People Live On Where There Are Cats Who Let You Immerse Them In Water and Sit Still In It For Five Minutes? Furthermore, What Planet Do These People Live On?

  1. Did they recommend safety gear like metal gloves, arm shields, face shield, full suit of armour?

  2. LOL  No cat I've ever had, that's for sure!  Thanks for the laugh!

  3. If you don't want to be just bone, then find some other way to do it!!!

    Thank you for the laugh!!!

I can just see it- a skeleton with a VERY mad cat beside it.

    Ha!!!

  4. Yup.  I'm assuming you value your skin, so I would just wait for the frontline. A few flea bites vs a cat bath, I know I'd stick with the flea bites and the cat would probably agree.

Plus combining the chemicals in the bath and in the frontline so close together probably wouldn't be healthy.

I'm stuck giving my sick kitty a pill and a half and some liquid meds twice a day.  Our vet seems to be a more optimistic person than I am.

I tried to look up info on giving pills, and this: http://www.nanceestar.com/CatPill.html was the first link I found.  heh.  Just about right.

Best of luck with the fleas!

  5. Yes Thanks for the laugh! I know how you feel.I have a dog who DOES NOT like water! It is a real chore bathing that dog.I would just wait for the flea meds.Loved your post.

  6. Thanks for sharing! I have a cat with the same problem and I am terrified to use the cat shampoo I got. Hope it works out. I guess I should pray for the courage to do it!

  7. Very funny post and true. You can use Dawn Dishwash liquid to give your cat a very effective flea bath and you won't have to sit on the cat for 5 minutes! Just rinse under warm water and dry with a towel.

    Good luck!
