  1. set out a bowl of milk for it.  let it come to it. you can try calling it or get a toy and try to lead it to you with it. it takes some cats a while to trust people. me and my husband raised a cat from birth and it would not really let u hold it long until she was a year old. but others will not leave your side. but toys and milk should do the trick. also try to give it ham or chicken in  little bites. or cat treats

  2. it's best if you let them come to you.  some cats don't like to be picked up, even if they know you.  spend time in what ever room the cat is in reading or watching tv.  cats tend to be nosy.  at least all mine were.  if you're trying to get their attention they probably won't come but if you're completely ignoring them, they're all up in your kool-aid! ;)

  3. win her over with food, as she learns to trust you, she will tolerate you picking her up :) give her lots of affection, in time she will return it

  4. Just play it slow. It will take time.

Put some treats in your hand and slowly offer them to her.

Do not make sudden moves around her.

If you relax, she'll relax. She gets her ques from you.

  5. try not to pick her up right away.  it will only scare her more.  let her come to you.  maybe get a few cat toys to play with or some treats.  when my cat was little, he would come out at night after hiding all day and sleep next to me, then i could pet him.  eventually, he became used to me.  he liked chipped ham as a treat.  he would let me pet him while giving him the ham!

  6. Good answers above.

A neighbor's cat was very skittish and timid, never letting me approach although she'd come into my yard. One day I put out a can of sardines for her, and we were best buds after that! Tuna works, also.
