  1. 4 weeks old? Probably time for them to be weaned right? Let the mama cat part from her kittens on her own, when thye get this old she will tend to get tired of them, since they are growing teeth and them drinking from her might hurt her nipples since they are kind of rough, so just set some kitten food near it and try weaning them that way, or get them out when the mom is gone.

  2. maybe the cat is over-protective

try removing the kittens without the cat noticing, and let them wander on their own for a while then place them back in the box

if the cat gets angry, then dont try to do anything, just leave the kittens back

  3. She's in charge and will ok their exit when she says. When we had kittens I always helped with the delivery. The momma cat was used to me touching the kittens from the first seconds of birth. We could always handle them with no trouble from the mother.

  4. cats are very possessive animals. they will always look after their youngs with much care cause when their kittens starts to grow up, they will have to separate from their parents.
