I was holding my cat when I found a Very little patch of fur that was loose on my 2 month yr old kittens foot .. when I touch it to see what it was it came off and now theirs a little bald spot on my cats foot .. but on the patch that came off ..it looked like some dry skin at the bottom of it (attached to it..thats what i think) .. We are going to the vet sometime this week for a check up but im really worried because recently my other cat had died and its been really hard for me and I dont want any health issues with this little one .. im not sure if he maybe scraped it somewhere or something .. Should I be worried?

and aslo,

my kitten has a weird tail ..like if i touch his tail it will feel kinda bumpy towards the top ..anything I should be worried about?

  1. talk to your vet but i dont think you should be worried about either!

first of all the patch of fur, that normally happens when they get a scrape and a scab forms over(along with the fur) and when it heals it just comes off in one large clump!

with the tail. I have 2 cats with broken/funny tails and they were born that way. Selvester was a krink in the middle of his tail, and Kiki has it on the tip. The vet said its no big deal, it doesnt hurt them (unless its freshly broken) and you have to just let it heal! Everything is fine dont worry!

  2. my cat had something like that recently. It was a big loose patch of fur, i pulled it off (it didnt hurt her) and it bled a bit. Its healed now and she's fine

  3. don"t be worid and the fur will grow back

  4. i think the best thing to do is go to a vets, you need a proffesionals answer.

    Hope this helped :)

  5. The skin thing just sounds like it was a scab that healed. Wounds will cause fur to be lost, taking a little of the dead skin with them. The bumpy tail might just be normal, or there might be wounds there. You're going to a vet so that's the best thing - none of this sounds worrying to me though, certainly not life-threatening.

  6. Sounds normal, he is small so you see the bald spot but cats lose tiny bits of hair all the time.  And the tail is normal  I even have one cat with a kink in the bones right at the tip of his tail.  Its hard when you lose a pet but dont worry to much.  enjoy your new little kitten.

  7. Your cat should be fine. Just tell all this to the vet when you take your cat in and he will know if your cat needs medication for dry skin or anything. I'm so sorry about your other cat; its always hard when they pass on.

  8. If the patch of fur was very tiny I would not worry. I have seen this happen plenty of times in cats. However you still need the vet to look at it just in case, it is possible the kitten has ringworm which really isn't something to worry about - it goes away but is very contagious!

The tail may have possibly been broken when your kitten was very young and just fixed itself in a weird way. I am not a vet this answer is based on life experiences. I hope I have helped you and I wish you and your kitten good luck.

  9. Make sure to describe all of this to your vet during your visit. He probably has really dry skin (and will need medicine) or he may have an allergy. My cat Bini is allergic to fleas and gets very dry flaky skin from them. She has a medicated shampoo to help her. And after she now has that for her weekly baths, her skin has quite improved and her fur even is back in her bald spots. Your vet should be able to tell you what your kitten has. And for the tail, it may just be thin and you can feel the vertebrae of the tail near the tip. That isn't anything to worry about. Just double check with your vet, since I can't see or feel the tail for myself, but your vet can. Good luck.
