My friend moved into an appartment that housed a crazy cat lady before her. 20 cats who were not fixed. They sprayed all over. I need to know what is the best way to clean up that HORIABBLE smell. Something that would be safe on painted on painted walls and hardwood floors. Thanks a million.........

  1. My cat does this too.

    When he sprays next,

put his face in it and aggressivly say "did you do this??" BAD CAT"

There is a cream you can by at the pet store to clean it up.

  2. There is a product sold in the pet stores called Natures Miracle....it really is a miracle. I recommend that and as far as I know its safe on everything since its free of chemicals.

Hope this helped...cat urine is a nasty smell!

  3. Wow...I wish you luck on this one! Hardwood floors will usually soak up the urine. You will probably never get rid of the smell completely! But I would first make sure the land lord is aware urine problem and depending on what state you live in the land lord may have to completely clean it up! Cat Urine contains strong ammonia odor that can make certain people very ill! Most states have some laws protecting renters from certain things like this! I would look into it! It can be a major health violation!

If that dose not work then your best bet is to use 1/2 bleach and 1/3 water solution. Or 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water. Spray the walls and wash them down good! Same thing with the floor.

I wish you and you friend luck! More than likely the smell will always appear.

  4. Try using white vinegar. I'm told it works as a base to neutralize the odor and besides, vinegar is a safe, non-toxic and effective cleaner. PEACE

  5. You need Nature One from All Natural Products.... http://www.allnaturalproducts.com/  this thing works miracles!  They are having a sale right now too.

I know this works on wood floors from personal experience.

Good luck, I feel your pain.

  6. I have never personally tried it but I've heard from some close friends that it works great!

    Should work on hardwood floors.
