  1. Its probably a good thing that she wants to be inside.  Like you said she almost got ran over so that should be a sign to keep her inside permanantly.  I hope your cats have been spayed/neutered if they are outside.  Also hope they have all their shots.

Just keep her inside she will be happier, healthier, and live a longer life.

  2. Something is making her afraid.  Maybe it is noise that she hears such as traffic noise.  I would let her live inside year around.  She will be healthier and live longer.

  3. We have a cat we let in last winter and she did not want to go out this summer so we let her stay in with the two that we do not let out.

She goes to the door sometimes, but then runs away when we hold the door open.

Really I'm afraid to put her back out.  There are a couple of new cats that have come up and I'm afraid that they or the others ones will have forgotten her and beat her up.

The other two that stay in - one is old and the other always gets beat up even though he's been fixed.

I'm not sure why, unless they realize how good they've got it indoors?

  4. Probably a dominant cat outside that she fights with. Inside is safer and probably the best place for her.

  5. maybe she saw something that she is scared of and she dose not want to go outside again or maybe she saw a cat got ran over by a car

  6. Well if you didnt let your cat inside for a whole season, your cat was probably struggling to find a source of food, she may have gotten attacked, or almost attacked. And then when you opened the door, she must have thought *thank god! i can go inside, im never going back out ever again, or shel never let me back in again* so i dont bame her for not wanting to step outside if you keep your cats outside! plus, its warm inside, she has shelter, and food, whereas outside there is no easy access to anything.

Dont leave your cats outside for this long of an extended period of time. sure, a few hours, but not months on end. This is on the verge of abuse. no offence, but if you wouldnt do it to a child, dont do to a cat.
