1. Sorry about your cat. 17 years is about the maximum age a well-cared for cat will live.

  2. 17 is LONG for a cat.

  3. Agreed, cats can live for a very long time. 17's a solid age, I'm sure she had a great run.

    I'm sorry about your cat.

  4. 17 is a good age for a cat.

  5. I am very sorry to hear of your impending loss. I lost a beloved

cat in May she was 15 years old and was fine up to the day she

died. Kelly was my favourite cat. I still miss her and cry over her

a little when I see her toys. I had a cat that lived to 19. My girlfriend

has two cats which were litter mates which will be 22 in sept.

The oldest proven age for a cat was 32 years old.(the vet had its

records from when it was a kitten!) A 17 year old cat is a very long

lived cat. She would be like 105 years in human terms

  6. well "Skittles" is old and usually if she/he is and outdoors cat then they will run away and die b/c they dont want you to see them in a terrible state. ever since i have been alive 2 of my cats have done that. I love you Josie and Tabby!

  7. She had a great life. Thats usually about as long as they live. My Aunt's cat lived to be about 20 thats the longest I have ever heard. I understand how this hurts so much I couldn't imagine losing my cat she is about 9 years old and the most loving cat I have ever seen. I'm sorry to hear that she is slipping away.

  8. Average life expectancy for and indoor kitty is between 12 and 15 years. I am sorry for your loss!! My thoughts are with you!

  9. The figure I hear most often is 17-20 if not cut short by accident or disease, though that's of course an average. My parents' cat is 20 and still kicking, but some cats just wear out physically faster.

17 is a respectable age. I'm wondering what's leading you to believe she's dying, though? What problems is she having? You might want to take her to the vet to see if there's anything that can be done, at least to make her more comfortable if not to make her actually get better.

Sorry to hear she isn't doing well. That's really hard.

  10. Your cat has lived an amazing, long life. I'm so sorry that she is passing away! :(
