Ok so we have 2 cats. One shedds like crazy. His name is Snow-man but his real name is Snowy-Da Grant. This mathces him perfectly because he shedds like crazy. I mean it's horrible. Each time he walks by, the hair flies everywhere! I am not bending the truth either! We started brushing him but is there any way to stop it or decrease it because it's getting out of control. We have to vacum everything every day which takes like an hour or two because it gets on the carpet and all the furniture around the house. And no we are not going to shave him or give him up. Please help!

  1. I know you said you wont shave him but i tell you that i have my white persian shaved once or twice a year for 5 years now. I thought it was a horrible thing to do a cat but he absolutely love it. He acts likes a kitten all over again when its done. Other wise we do have to brush his hair everyday, but then again he likes it so much that if we hold the brush still, he will rub on it himself. You can also get special brushes just made for getting extra hair off your pet. Good luck, mine used to get hair everywhere too.

  2. Hi, I have 3 cats, that sounds normal to me, I fill up a bag-less vacuum cleaner with one house vacuum!! I too brush them its a mess with 3. I feel bad for my kitties they are all long hair Rag Doll mixes, pure rag-dolls don't shed, wish they had more then the rag doll look!! GOOD LUCK!

  3. I have 2 cats as well, Sampson and Charlie Murphy, and Charlie is a long haired black cat. She sheds like crazy...2 weeks ago we bought the Furminator, runs about 30 dollars depending on where bought. Both cats love it and it actually works. I still vacuum about once a week, but not anymore than that now. and it seems to have helped with hairballs, well so far.

  4. its mostly likely the season, try giving them baths along with brushing once every couple of days(I do it once a week, but it sounds much more serious for your cat then mine)

Their is a brush called the Shed-Ender, which also has helped me a great deal.

  5. You really need to get the furminator; I just got one and am impressed with it. It is kind of expensive but I think worth all the money in the world; you can find it from 19.99 to 29.99; it takes off all the extra hair and the undercoat and now my cats do not shed. Great item; get the little one and just be gentle as it can harm the skin if used too long on the same place.

It really, really works; I couldn't believe all the hair I got off both of them and now when you pet, play, sleep or whatever, there is no hair.......

  6. It could be just because of the season. Pets shed a lot in the summer. I have two cats also and use a shedding tool on them regularly. I've also found that their food helps with the shedding a GREAT deal for some reason. They have been on NUTRO for about 2 years now, the old stuff was no good. Hope that helped and good luck!

  7. I have a cat like that too. Its normal.
