  1. Depends on the cat.  We recently has stray kittens come to our house and my 11 year old cat put up a hissy fest lol.  We gave the kittens away and my cat felt better.  But when he was younger we got a kitten named Ashes.  At first he hated her.  But we gave it time and they actually started to get along.  They even walked next to eachother.

My advice is to give it time.

  2. Older cats especially take more time to adapt to something new in the house. They might get the feeling that you're trying to kick them out or replacing them. The only thing I can suggest is to get them both together and pet the kitten. and then pet the older one to show it that you haven't replaced them. It will definatly need time, cats are very strange.

    :]

  3. you should introduce them very little and if they don't hiss or any thing like that then give them both some of there favorite food for a reward. If they do good keep introducing them longer and longer time.if your cats don't like each other you could put them in a basket if a door on it and put them in there and introduce them by that. When you do that put there favorite kind of food in the basket. Its not creul its just a safe way to introduce them and they will feel safer in them then not in them. Once they get used to each other by a distance then you could bring there cage/basket closer and closer. once they can tolerate each other in the cage. you could take them out then see what they do. and if they still be aggressive you should buy a cat stand so if one cat feels threaten it can go one the hightest shelf and it will feel safer.

  4. Give it time and they'll be fine.

  5. no because when whe got another kitten my older cat was mad

  6. give them more time

  7. i had 1 cat, then we adopted quite a young one, bout a year old, attacked it (well, ran after it), would always hiss and the cat would spend its time crawling about and hiding on top of cupboards

so got rid o' that one

loool that sounds bad but our cat was petrified

    then we got a kitten

our cat was freaked and they used to attack each other but not hiss (aparently this is "play fighting" though so dont be alarmed if they are vicious with each other)

you have to do a introduction where they are both in the same room together

ones about 4 and the others 8 now and theyre alright with each other

but my cat is such a p***y! haha

  8. Take it nice and easy. They might be aggressive at first, so supervise all interactions and keep them apart when you're not around. First, consult your vet on the best way to handle this situation.

  9. I'd be real careful on this...the cat that currently lives in the territory is probably going to be pretty aggresive in defending his space.  If they are both males, this may never stop, although they may learn to tolerate each other.

Never shove two cats at each other, I'd suggest bringing them both in carriers into a neutral space that is not territory belonging to either of them (the garage perhaps?) and letting them get used to each others smells, then play it by ear.

Do not leave them alone together til you know how they will behave.

  10. Its all gonna depend on your cats' personality. I have 3 cats and got them all at different times. And each one of them took time to get used to the other, and even 2 years later(after my 3rd cat) they still have their days were they fight. Its gonna happen, they are cats!

So I say introduce them, the most they will do is fight for a bit. They will prolly get along just fine!
