  1. The cat will not learn anything--except that you're mean-- if you rub it's face in it.

    Cleanliness cleanliness cleanliness!!!

If my cat finds it unacceptable, he goes right next to the box.

  2. Try putting it in a large cage with only it's food bowl and litterbox.

  3. rub her face in the mess she will learn

  4. dont worry she will use it in time plz ansewr my question http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

  5. Is it clean?  The Cat may have a allergic reaction to the type of litter. Or it may be spraying your house.

  6. you should probably take your kitty to the vet for an exam. Sometimes they will stop using it when they have a health issue.

  7. Boy! Do I know that problem!  With respect to Jaden, I'm sorry I don't believe rubbing her face in it will help. She would not understand the connection and just become afraid.

The first thing to do is a vet check-up.  My female has a recurring bladder problem and, as a result, when it flares up I know it because she uses other places to pee than her litter box.

If she checks out there, and she has used the cat box for a year then suddenly stopped, look for what has changed.  Is there a new noise somewhere near her box? Did you recently move it?  Did you get another cat? or pet? or even new family member? You clean the box regularly?  Haven't recently changed brands of litter, or changed the box?

As you can see, there are alot of reasons why a cat will suddenly stop using a box.  But, when you find the cause, you'll be able to correct it.

Cats are clean creatures, and using the litter box is natural for them. They don't like skulking around looking for other places to use.  Something has caused this behavior.  Either the box isn't clean enough for her liking or something has frightened her out of going into it.  The feeling of being trapped. She may need some reassurance from you that she's safe to 'go in' . I know it sounds strange, but put her in it, calmly sit with her, talking softly.  Don't force her in, but put her in several times a day and praise her when she uses it.

    Good luck to you

  8. Try a sandy type litter, usually a clumping litter. And change it every day. I have a cat that simply will NOT use the litter box if it's dirty in any way. In fact, she refuses to cover her p**p. She simply refuses, and only wipes her paws on the sides of the litter box. It's annoying to the 9th degree. Very, very annoying. But we adopted her...so...

But yea, keep the litter box clean, put it in a 'private' place, or even put a little tent up over it. They sell them at PetSmart.
