we had a kitten about 6 weeks old dumped at our office yesterday, i took it to to rspca and they took it into the hospital straight away. Poor things eyes were like liquid, they said it was cat flu. I was going to ring up to see how it was...how many days do u think it would take to get over it? I was thinking about rehoming it. I have two 2 year old cats who are calci virus carriers (spent hundreds of pounds getting them better they had snotty noses for about a year..they were rescued)

The kitty was v sleepy..Id like him :-(

  1. call just to see. its sad dropping a cat off with no home. i would call and if u really like it ask if you can adopt it. just care for it and maybe the vets would even let you go visit it.

it would be very nice if you adopted it!

  2. I've had many kittens who have been sick and had the same symptoms. If his eyes are both open then it probably isn't too serious. You can try massaging apple-cider vinegar into the back of his neck once a day for a few days. Also you can clean their eyes with water and baby shampoo or cooled off green or black tea bags. I've had many kittens this has worked on but if it was too serious like the kitten I have now I had to go to the vet for Terramycin and Clavamox. It usually takes about 5 to 7 days for them to get better. If your interested in keeping him call asap, many hospitals put down sick animals if they don't have a home for them. Good Luck and I think people who rescue animals are hero's!!!

  3. I rescued a kitten from a kitten dump I found where there are about 100 kittens. There were various stages of eye infection there and sickness. Some kittens had even lost eyes. The vet gave amoxicillan and eye salve and now, 3 days later, his eye is almost back to normal. I'll keep him on the meds till the antibiotics are gone and the eye salve till his eyes are completely well.  Thanks for helping.  Here's a pic of Rocky the day I rescued him.
