Catacombs worth it?

My parents and I will be in Italy for 31 days in July. I have heard alot about the Catacombs and wonder if we should go? We will be in Rome, Venice, Florence, Sienna and Santa Margharita. Are there only catacombs in Rome? thank you!

if you go in the catacombs, take a jacket, they may be cold

I went last year to the ones in Rome.  I would have to say they are NOT worth it.  The two I went to were beneath churches and were a serious of tunnels.  Along the walls were carved out "niches" if you will, where the bodies were at one time.  So, it's basically just a bunch of dirt and open graves.  Of everything to see in that beautiful country, that would be the bottom of my list.

Yes, It is beautiful to visit the catacombs and… not, to Rome not there are alone catacombs!
