Catalan Dragons coach Trent Robinson appreciates team for brilliant performance – Rugby League
Catalan Dragon’s coach, Trent Robinson, is delighted to see his side’s massive win of 56-6 against the Hull Kingston Rovers, in the elimination play-off of Engage Super League, on Sunday, September 18, 2011.
The highlight of the Dragons’ home soil victory was a hat-trick of tries scored by Damien Blanch, which was assisted by a couple added by Steve Menzies. Contributions from Daryl Millard, Sebastien Raguin, Eloi Pelissier, Cyril Stacul and Clint Greenshields
led to the impressive win of the Dragons.
Dragons will see either of the two, Wigan Warriors or Saints in the second week of play-offs.
While speaking about the course of the events which led to Dragons’ massive in against Rovers, Robinson stated, “I don't think we came into the game thinking we would win 56-6, the boys were really on their game tonight. Hull KR have been playing really
well in recent weeks and they should be applauded for how they've finished the season. Tonight was Justin's last game with the club and they played with a lot of heart. We had a lot of our footy that came off for us, we played well and we forced their hand
a bit and we were powerful.”
Robinson acknowledged that both teams played well but the stronger team had to rise up as winner, which in this case was his. He added that it was his first semi-final game and so was the case with many other players on board, who were treading towards their
first semi-final experience. Being new to this level, he admitted that he also did not know how his team will be able to do it.
He pointed out that it is very important to appreciate the efforts and hard work his players had put in the game, which has led up to their desirable win. He also mentioned that in tonight’s win the important role was played by the middle-rowers of the pack,
which included, Lopini Paea, Jamal Fakir, David Ferriol, Remi Casty and Jason Baitieri.
The brilliant players created niche for players like Scotty Dureau and Thomas Bosc who scored match-winning tries of the encounter.
