The Rossazzurri manager insists that the team is not content as yet and stated that the team will look push for a European qualification; insists the Gialloblu game will be a test.
Vincenzo Montella has reiterated that the team is not content with the season’s accomplishments so far, and will seriously pursue a qualification for the European competition.
Catania are currently placed 8th in the Serie A points table, two positions and five points behind the sixth placed AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603. The situation sets Catania within shooting sight of the Europa League spot, and the side are being are being considered as a contender
with an outside chance for Europe qualification.
The tactician commended that although the team has performed wonderfully against all odds, in the ongoing season, but it is no time for the club to stand content with their current position. The coach warned his side against complacency in the league, and
insisted that he wants the team to move forward with resolute belief in them.
While talking to reporters, the former AS Roma manager said:
“We’re never content, we want to progress with confidence and balance.”
When asked about his upcoming fixture against Chievo Verona, the Elefanti coach said that the game will be an important test for the team. The manager commended Chievo Verona for their ability to seamlessly transition their game, and insisted that they are
a very strong opposition.
The manager went on to say that the team will require a show of courage and skill in the match, and play a very complex game in order to win against the stout adversary.
“We will need to focus and show intelligence, but also courage and technique. We need to be ready to play a very complex game - the Gialloblu don’t let you play and then they hit you.”
Montella stated that the first game against Chievo Verona has helped the team to build an understanding of the opposition and the side is matured enough to play in less than perfect conditions.
“The first game [between the teams] matured the side for adverse conditions. Typically we draw games like that, at worst.” He added.
