Lo Monaco, Sporting Director of Catania, has stated that he would be parting ways with the Etnei by the end
of the season, but did not shed any light on his future.
Gli Elefanti transfer specialist has been at the club for the past decade and it was widely speculated that the director would
be severing his ties with the club by the end of the season. He had already resigned from the company which overlooked the workings of the Catania training complex and the end seemed imminent.

Lo Monaco further stated that he had already mentioned that he wanted to leave the club, but did not disclose the exact reason
for his departure. He remarked:
“I have expressed a desire to leave. I would have handed in my resignation on June 30, but I don’t
want to tell you why. I’ll stay here until the end of the season.”
Despite his reluctance in giving away the reason behind his departure, reports suggest that the souring of relations between
the director and the president of Catania Calcio, Antonino Pulvirenti, are to blame for the sporting director’s departure from the Rossazzurri.
The Etnei director further went on to state that he had been an important asset of the club and was looking for due recognition.
Despite his regrets, he commented that the club is in sound hands as the President is a “phenomenon” and knows his ways around making money.

In his interview he was keen to dispel any rumours on his progression through his times at the club. He commented:

“He said some untrue things about me, like when he said that he allowed me into the world of football when I had already worked for northern clubs. I turned down
some advantageous offers to stay here.”

When quizzed on the possibilities he sees for himself after Catania, he stated that he had not yet decided on his future and was still mulling over the possibilities.
He further remarked:

“My future? I haven’t spoken with any other clubs, but I will take a look around.”

The Sicilian transfer guru has been heavily linked with his hometown of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, and he has refused to deny any such link in his past interviews.
