Can anyone explain to me what a catastrophic cap is when referring to medical insurance? I have annual deductible of $150 that I have met(I know what that is) and I have a catastrophic cap of $1,000 that I have met but I don't understand what that means. Getting through to talk to customer service to ask this simple question is like watching paint dry. I don't want ot listen to elevator music for an hour. I can't find the info on the website or handbook

  1. In this case it sounds like the $1,000 is your maximum out of pocket. That means in a worst case scenario that is the most you will pay. Are you in the USA?
