Catch Me tipped to win M.D.O´Shea & Sons Hotel Hurdle
Catch Me is expected to prevail in the M.D.O´Shea & Sons Hotel Hurdle at Killarney in Ireland on Monday, May 14, 2012. The winner of the event will be awarded a cash prize of €10,695.
The stamina of all runners will be put to a test, as the overall distance to cover is 2 miles and 4 furlongs. The going will be good and a total of eight runners will be seen in action in the race, which is scheduled to start at 18:50 GMT. Their names are
as follows: Catch Me, Realt Dubh, Won In The Dark, Wolf Hall, Flycorn, The Fonze, Dancing Tornado and Hot Friend.
Looking at the experience and recent form of Catch Me, the bookmakers have awarded him with pretty decent odds for the race. He might also attract the maximum number of bets from the punters today.
The 10-year-old gelding has participated in 25 races over hurdles, winning eight of them and finishing runner up on a couple of occasions. In addition to that, he has also secured the third spot on five times, which shows that he is quite capable of fighting
for the top positions.
The E. J. O'Grady’s trainee was unable to make an impression in his most recent run, as was pulled up by his jockey M. P. Walsh. He was not rated as favourite for that event, but was still expected to challenge his rivals to some extent.
Walsh will once again be partnering Catch Me in today’s race. He is relatively new to the sport and has not won any race over hurdles. However, he has the potential to do so and will be looking forward to performing well at Killarney.
On the other hand, Realt Dubh will also be the one to watch out for in the race. He is a very good runner and has won a couple of hurdles out of seven attempts, which shows that he is capable of claiming the top spot.
However, the eight-year-old gelding disappointed one and all with his performance last time around, as he finished 18th, despite being rated as the favourite to win.
Other than the top two favourites, Won In The Dark might also manage to make an impression in the race.
