Catcher A.J. Pierzynski feels Chicago White Sox played well against Texas Rangers – MLB News
Despite losing the Opening series to Texas Rangers in 2012 Major League Baseball, the Chicago White Sox are showing no extra worries and still carrying the right kind of energy into the season. Recently their star catcher A.J. Pierzynski told the media as the team came out defeated 5-0 on Sunday night.
He said explaining why they still feel good playing against top teams and also their game was competitive if compared to Rangers’ performance. He said, “I thought we played well. Tonight we needed to score some runs, but the first two games were evenly played, and we could have won both of them. Tonight they hit some home runs and we didn’t, but it was encouraging. I liked the energy. I liked the enthusiasm. In the past, he had been mostly fastball-slider, especially to lefties. He threw some changeups to lefties. He deserves a ton of credit.”
The White Sox were coming into 2012 MLB competition with huge optimism, but these recent defeats from former World Series finalists certainly is a not a healthy sign especially at start of the season. The White Sox players and some coaches are stating in the media that these are early days to judge anyone as there is still plenty to play for.
White Sox had a tremendous Spring Training in Arizona’s Cactus League, Arizona and they wanted to implement all their late strategies in the regular season. However with some early losses now, the White Sox certainly need to work on their next outing in the Majors.
Though one particular series cannot change the whole competition for them, but this is true that the entire White Sox roster is now on back step and wanted to show some winning consistency in the coming days.
New manager of White Sox Robin Ventura and general manager Kenny Williams also showing some serious concerns as their team faces a latest challenge of getting the right kind of momentum before going on the pitch. If things worked well for the White Sox and they retained the level of energy they need at the moment, the results will follow and the White Sox will go into new direction from now on-wards.
