Catcher help?

I play catcher and i am having trouble throwing people out who are stealing 2nd. My accuracy is fine but how can i make my thowing arm stronger?

  1. Great answer Anthony. Long toss is the be all end all to throwing woes. Do it right though.


  2. I am a former catcher. You can lift weights and play a lot of long toss. Good luck!

  3. yeah definately long toss will help      over time ur arm will get stronger

  4. its the wrist strength that you get the speed/ to much arm is only arm speed! wrist developement with lifting 5 pound weights with wrist bends in a snap motion! speed comes with the snap of the wrist!

  5. long toss is what most people would say, and yes that will help but you can also try to react more quicker to when a baserunner is stealing. but not like jump to get to the ball sooner or else you'd get hit with the bat if they were swinging for a hit and run. good luck

  6. also, it might be your form.  make sure your ready to pop up every time there are runners on that should help cut the time down.

  7. make sure you are throwing the ball properly

    i was hurting my arm and not having enough power cuz i wasn't using proper technique

    if you are using proper technique then just do some upperbody workouts
