Catching latias and latios in pokemon emerald?

Question

I know that you chose latias or latios, once you beat the pokemon champion. But how can i catch both of them?

get a pokemon called wobuffet or wynut
because they have an ability that stops the pokemon fleeing.
then try paralyzing or putting them to sleep
then keep throwing pokeballs.
