Catching up with my old friend.?

well this question is for my guy friend.

he had a best guy friend who he knew for 10 years they kinda stropped being friends last year because they had no more classes together and one of them moved 5 minutes away, they used to be neighbors.

well now they have lunch together but they never sit or talk to each other, well today my friend told me he called his old best guy friend and they talked for like 5 minutes just kinda catching up.

now what else should they talk about, and is it to early for him to invite him over to his house just to hang out? (he used to come over all the time)

they barely started talking today and i told him to invite him over tomorrow.

Personally, I believe that if you can't keep in contact with a friend just because you stopped having class together, then you shouldn't be friends at all. It just says a lot about what your friendship really meant. But I do give him kudos for making the first move to talk to him again. It's not too early to invite him over. I say to do it ASAP. They should just talk about the past and what they're doing now. Just simple stuff about life. Talk about what you two did as kids and what you should do now to relive those experiences. Talk about what classes you have right now and how they were the year before. You know, things like that. Just hang out like you did before..
