Cate Campbell wins Women’s 50m freestyle event - 2011 Australian Age Championships
The 2011 Australian Age Championships got off to a flying start with the wonderful performance of Cate Campbell in the Women’s 50m freestyle meet at the SA Aquatic and Leisure Centre in Adelaide. She grabbed her title with a winning time of 25.45 seconds,
while Jess Morrison of Victoria took the second place in 25.72 seconds and Tessa Wallace wound up third in 25.91 seconds.
In the Boys 50m freestyle meet, Kenneth To was placed first with a time of 23.04 seconds. Andrew Digby finished second in 23.20 seconds, while Joel Alati settled third in a time of 23.37 seconds.
Elise Pidutti took home the Girls 200m IM title with a sterling time of 2:23.61 minutes, while Megan Gianotti wound up second in 2:24.04 minutes. Meg Bailey finished third in a time of 2:25.32 minutes.
Mack Horton of Victoria won the Boys 200m Individual Medley title with a fabulous time of 2:14.24 minutes. Ryan Leonard grabbed the second spot in 2:14.65 minutes, while James Traiforos wound up third in 2:15.21 minutes.
In the Girls 100m freestyle meet, Bronte Campbell was placed first with a remarkable time of 56.19 seconds, while Kotuku Ngawati was placed second in 56.47 seconds. Adelaide Hart settled third in 56.80 seconds.
Cameron McEvoy snagged the Boys 100m freestyle crown with an incredible time of 50.95 seconds. Robert Gerlach finished second in 52.21 seconds, while Hugo Morris was placed third in 52.28 seconds.
In the Girls 200m backstroke meet, Sophie Batchelor wound up first with a sterling time of 2:16.31 minutes, while Morgan Timms clinched the second spot in a time of 2:16.96 minutes. Hayley Baker wound up third in 2:17.86 minutes.
Jordan Harrison won the Boys 200m back-stroke event with a bonafide time of 2:09.41 minutes. Bradlee Ashby settled second in 2:09.85 minutes, while Mitchell Adams finished third in a time of 2:0.31 minutes.
Mikayla Smith won the Girls 12/13yrs 200m breast-stroke title with a genuine time of 2:41.13 minutes, while Callum Sinclair grabbed the Boys 12/13yrs 200m back crown with a distinctive time of 2:30.89 minutes.
Mikkayla Sheridan snatched the Girls 16yrs 200m butterfly with an astonishing time of 2:17.73 minutes, while Hugo Morris nabbed the Boys 16yrs 200m butterfly in 2:05.03 minutes.
Jemma Schlict was placed first in the Girls 12/13yrs 200m freestyle meet with a sterling time of 2:04.29, whereas, Mitchell Davenport Wright captured the Boys 13/13yrs 200m free title in 2:01.10 minutes.
Tessa Wallace and Samantha Marshall won the Girls 17/yrs 100m breast-stroke with a sterling time of 1:10.08 minutes, while Scott Neuman wound up first in the Boys 17/yrs 100m breast-stroke in time of 1:04.66 minutes. Megan Gianotti snared the Girls 14yrs
100m butterfly title with a winning time of 1:01.95 minutes, while Max Plianski finished first in the Boys 14yrs 100m butterfly in 58.14 seconds.
In the Girls 17/18yrs 400m freestyle, Jessica Ashwood wound up first in 4:15.52 minutes, whereas, David McKeon won the Boys 17/18yrs freestyle event with a sterling time of 3:56.51 minutes.
