  1. i'm with laura there are some exellent fish in there that are not cats. i couldn't find anything or anyone that said there were cats in there. i would try going after some salmon. ( walleye is some GOOD eatin)

  2. I looked all over the internet and there is no mention of Channel Cats as a normal native fish in that river. Sometimes they will travel from other rivers via the eggs hitching a ride on the legs of birds, so it is possible. Ask the local bait shops around the river and they should be able to tell you if they've ever heard of any being pulled out of that river.

Below is a fishing guide I found about the Willamette River, it mentions some REALLY good fish in that river so the fishing should be good even without cats. Heck, I would love to have a crack at Walleye, Salmon, Steelhead, or Sturgeon (too bad they are not native to our area), I've heard Walleye is some REALLY good eating.

I hope this helps. Good luck and have FUN, that is what it's all about anyway...lol.

  3. Best source of information would be the state dept of fish & game, they have biologists on staff that are familiar with most of the waterways in their state.
