Catfish help!? for the big ones!?

ok well when i go fishing i usually catch some nice 5 ponders on dip bait at a resort i go to every weekend, but i wanna catch some big ones! i mean like 20 ponders but, what bait should i use and what kind of test line please help I'm only 13 so i cant go everyday like i want to because of school but i go every weekend with my mom and we catch some 5 pounds biggest i ever cause was a 2 1/2 carp and a 8 pound cat, so please help tell me like exactly what to do like rig and everything!!!!!!

It really depends on where you live.  If they have flatheads there, they ONLY eat live bait, so I use bluegill or shad, hooked through the eyes, with about a 3-5 oz. river weight rigged with the weight at the end of your line and the hook/bait about 12-18 inches above the weight, I like to use Kahle or widegap hooks.  If they don't have flatheads where you are then still try using shad, live prefarably or freshly cut up in about 1 inch squares, this will work for larger channels and blues as well, pick up a copy of the Catfish Insider for more tips, good luck, and by the way 5 lb channel cats are nice size fish, still good eating size and they fight like crazy.

Pickeral rig, change the original hooks to stronger ones, 15-30 lb great quality fishing line, nightcrawlers top and bottom hook, find catfish holes deep spots, rivers. Boat and pickeral rig with nightcrawlers in good holes can bring in bigger catfish. Caught lots of 18lb + Channel Cats in boats, lots of 9lb + Channel Cats off shore.

get you a little hook put something small on there catch some little bream acut the head and the tail of use the middle peice,tie on the hook first and right above the hook put on a 1ounce o 1/2 ounce weight  throw it out there let it sink to the bottom  reel the line tight and sit it in a pole holder or put a stick about 2 foot long in the ground upright sit the pole on there make sur the lines tight wait to you get a bite,pick the pole up but pull the line kinda when you fell him bite on the line set the hook thats the way we do it in arkansas
