  1. Catch a little bluegill. Put him WHOLE on the hook. If its a little too big, go with just cutting chunks of the side, or cutting the head off and put it on the hook. Or you can catch live bait. For line suggestions, I say go with a Trilene or Big Game Stren 15lb-20lb. Catfish get very large, so depending upon the place you are fishing you might wanna fight out what size range is for catfish.

In the last 2 years I've caught 3 cat fish over 30lbs with this method.

    Good luck & Tightlines bro.

  2. When pursuing the big ones, remember the golden rule.                  Big bait=Big fish. I only use chicken livers(and have caught 12.5lb fish on them), but I've heard of using sunfish, bluegill, old shrinp,or really anything with a rank or bloody

  3. Chicken liver. Cow lungs. Hotdogs. They hide deep in the water so you need some weight. Its a personal decision to decide what weight and where your fishing. Don't try to set the hook at first when you feel the bite, they"re just playing with it in their teeth. Set the hook when you feel a firm tug. That's all I got. Love fishin for caties!

  4. Thatredneck is totally correct.

Either a whole "chunked up" Bluegill, (where using Bluegill as bait is legal), or an 8" Shiner.

Some cats LOVE there forage/bait alive. Try sinking large Shiners in deep spots and HOLD ON TIGHT!

    Good luck!
