what happens if the baggage dimensions exceed 62 inches, say if it is about 69 inches?....

  2. I checked Cathay's website but they just give dimensions you are allowed but do not give any details on if it is over-sized. The Airline I work for currently charges $100 if your luggage is oversize but that will increase to $125 for customers who bought their tickets on or after June 13 2008 for travel after Aug 2008 and beyond.  The weight and measurements are done at the some time. I called Cathay  they said there is a over-sized baggage fee. I told them the bag was 69 total inches but they said they needed to know where the travel was to and from...which I found kinda of weird. Most Airlines just have a flat fee for over-sized or over weight bads...he said they have different prices for different sizes.  

    You will probably want to call them yourself so you can tell them where you are fly from and to, then you can get an accurate answer.

  3. Honestly, it has to be 62 linear inches but if its 69 inches I'm sure no one will notice, Most gate agents wont measure your bag.
