Cathedral chasing his first win in SIS Live Maiden Stakes
Cathedral has a solid chance of bringing up his maiden victory in the sport, by claiming the SIS Live Maiden Stakes at Ripon in England on Monday, July 9, 2012. He will have to outperform 17 other runners in order to earn a cash prize of £2,588.
The class-5 event is scheduled to start at 20:50 GMT and the going will be soft in it. The stamina of all participants will be put to a tern test, as they will have to cover an overall distance of 1 mile.
There are a lot of inexperienced runners lined up for action at Ripon, which will make it difficult for the punters to decide whether who will come on top in the end. However, they can trust the abilities of Cathedral, who has got a decent record and might
dominate proceedings in the SIS Live Maiden Stakes.
The three-year-old colt will be full of confidence, as he has done well in the events he has taken part in. Many of his rivals have not even taken part in a single race at this level, which will be a plus point for him.
The Brian Meehan’s trainee has taken part in three events, but has not managed to win event once. The best he could manage was the third place finish on a couple of times, which would have earned him some respect.
Invincible Spirit’s son out of Capades Dancer made his debut last year at Newbury and was pretty much impressive back then. He was priced 16 to 1 and was up against some promising runners. However, he managed to give a tough time to the front runners and
finished third eventually.
This was the only outing for Cathedral in 2011, as he was rested for a few months before appearing in a class-4 race at Newbury. He was once again competitive and fought hard against his opponents. However, he was unable to finish at the front yet again
and had to settle for the third place.
In his most recent race, the young runner was unable to impress, finishing sixth overall. However, he has the ability to shine at Ripon today under experienced jockey, Robert Winston.
