Catholic school certification in NY

Question

I heard that it is possible to become a certified teacher if you work in a Catholic school for a certain amount of years. Since I am having problems with my student teaching, I was wondering if this was true? I passed all the tests that I need to pass for a NY certification and I am currently working on getting my Masters in Multicultural Education. Like I said before, I just want to know if I can get certified by the above mentioned way.

This is not true

Here is the certification page for your state - as you can see they dont regulate what private schools do. The flip side to that is that your teaching there would matter little to certification.
