I'm going into 8th grade this year, and i've spent all my school years in catholic school, but idk if i want 2 go back 2 catholic school 4 8th grade. Should I wait till next year(high school) to go 2 public school, or make that switch now? And what r the pros and cons of public school and catholic school?

  1. public schools are a lot cheaper.

  2. I can totally understand because I switched from Catholic to Public school in 8th grade! You DEFINITELY want to switch now! Being at the public school for 8th grade makes everything so much easier.

--You get to know some people and blend in. When you get to high school, there are so many more people and things get confusing. It's good to have a few friends from middle school.

--Don't get all scared though, because my public school wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined it. There are some really crude upper classmen, but you just get used to it and have to ignore them.

--If you switch in 8th grade, you'll have time to find a good group of kids. When you start a new school, you have no idea what anyone is like, so you end up sitting with random people! If you get this part over in 8th grade, you'll know what groups to hang around in high school so you don't get stuck with people who you don't like and who don't share common values/interests

--You might become a little depressed, because it's hard when there aren't many Catholics like at the private school. It was a little harder for me to find people with similar values. You'll be a lot happier if you keep involved in your parish. I even found some Catholics through the parish that went to my school!
