  1. To become a saint...one must be born again by accepting the gift of salvation from Jesus Christ.

  2. <<Catholics: Does every Pope become a Saint in your Religion- If not why Not?>>

Clearly not every man who becomes pope is destined to be a saint. Besides, the fact a given former pope hasn't been made a saint doesn't mean they won't be made a saint in the future.

<<My Question is Sincere... I asked this Question because the Pope is Viewed by the Catholic church as the Vicar of Christ. Given that, I would Assume that the Church would Fast-track a Pope to Sainthood in your Church regardless.>>

See what happens when you merely assume something?

<<To pick one & not the other would Render the " VIC" title of less value to some, dont you think?>>

No, the fact some former popes have not been made saints doesn't do any disservice to the title "Vicar of Christ".

  3. No....

There was a period of time in the Dark Ages and Renaissance where there was a string of corrupt Popes, who only took office for power hunger. Obviously, they don't qualify. There's actually a list of criteria that need to be met in order to be cannonized.

  4. No

The pope, just like any Catholic, must exhibit the criteria needed for canonization. Not every pope has done that.

  5. Not necessarily.

Some may have actually ended up in h**l. Dante (a devout Catholic) certainly thought so and put several in his Inferno.

Remember saints are people in heaven or on their way to heaven. All Christians dead and alive are saints.

The Catholic Church selects some of the most extraordinary examples, does in-depth research, and canonizes them.

"By canonizing some of the faithful, i.e., by solemnly proclaiming that they practiced heroic virtue and lived in fidelity to God's grace, the Church recognizes the power of the Spirit of holiness within her and sustains the hope of believers by proposing the saints to them as models and intercessors."

  6. THE ROMAN CATHOLICS ARE DEAD WRONG

This is what a Saint is Right from the Bible

    HAGIOS IS SAINT. IN GREEK

( FROM THE RECOGNIZED FIRST  BIBLOS OF THE WORLD.. BIBLOS  MEANS BIBLE IN GREEK ( FROM THE  FIRST GREEK NEW TESTAMENT . ( FOR ALL PEOPLE IN

    THE WORLD) GREEK SEPTUAGINT

The word saint comes from the Greek word "hagios" which means “consecrated to God, holy, sacred, pious." It is almost always used in the plural, “saints.” "…Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how much harm he did to Your saints at Jerusalem" (Acts 9:13). "Now as Peter was traveling through all those regions, he came down also to the saints who lived at Lydda" (Acts 9:32). "And this is just what I did in Jerusalem; not only did I lock up many of the saints in prisons … “(Acts 26:10). There is only one instance of the singular use and that is "Greet every saint in Christ Jesus…" (Philippians 4:21). In Scripture there are 67 uses of the plural “saints” compared to only one use of the singular word “saint.” Even in that one instance, a plurality of saints is in view “…every saint…” (Philippians 4:21).

The idea of the word “saint” is a group of people set apart for the Lord and His kingdom. There are three references referring to godly character of saints; "that you receive her in the Lord in a manner worthy of the saints …" (Romans 16:2). "For the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12). "But immorality or any impurity or greed must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints" (Ephesians 5:3).

Therefore, Scripturally speaking, the “saints” are the body of Christ, Christians, the church. All Christians are considered saints

The RC's believe they can have POPES and have SAINTS .

There isn't any such ( procedure to be followed in the Bible) thus it is non valid. (NO ONE CAN MAKE A POPE A SAINT

    EXCEPT GOD AFTER FINAL JUDGEMENT

Furthermore they have their own invented laws ( UNBIBLICAL TO MAKE ( SAINTS ) OF DECEASED PEOPLE ON EARTH

The SOUL THAT SINNETH  DIES ( WE ALL DIE AS SINNERS ( NONE DIE WORTHY TO BE "SAINT IN THE WAY THE RC INTERPRET "SAINTS"

EZEKIELSEzekiel 18 - "The Soul That Sinneth"

In Ezekiel 18:4 God said, "Behold all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die". ...

THUS WHETHER THE RC CHURCH MAKES THE POPE A "SAINT" AFTER THE "POPE"  IS DECEASED  IS IRRELEVANT.. IN TRUTH THEY ARE NOT. ANY MORE A SAINT (THAN ANYONE ELSE) AND WILL BE JUDGED AT THE FINAL JUDGMENT BY GOD/ AS ALL

  7. No, not at all. Some do some don't. It depends on how he lived his life. Also, there are requirements for sainthood, such as verified miracles that can be attributed to that person's intercession.

  8. Certainly not.  Many have shown heroic holiness, and have been canonized.  And a few have been real stinkers.  But most have been what the Church admits it is, sinners trying to do better.

    Thanks for asking.

  10. In the curious, contradictory 'church' of Coinstantine, a non-saint decides who the saints are.
