I want to understand the mysteries better, I know that I could read scripture but I would like an explanation of scripture. Do you know of any sites that could help me? Thank you and God bless.

  1. Why not read the book of Mark and we can talk about it tomorrow.

The book of Mark can be read in one sitting and should take the average adult less than 90 minutes to read.

Here is a link to listen to thru your computer speakers.

Or any book of the Bible:

  2. The Rosary consists of 20 Mysteries, but we pray 5 mysteries each day. Sundays, Wednesdays and Saturdays: Glorious Mysteries,

Mondays: Joyous Mysteries.  Tuesday and Fridays: Sorrowful Mysteries. And Thursdays: Lightful Mysteries. Each Mystery is a passage of the Bible.

    Example:   Joyous Mysteries:

The Annunciation of the Angel to the Virgin Mary.

The Visitation Of the Virgen Mary to her cousin Elizabeth

              The Baby Jesus is Born.

The Presentation of the Baby Jesus in the Temple.

The Child Jesus Lost and Found in the Temple.

      And so on.

  3. Download this free Catholic Bible commentary, or buy a copy from Amazon.

    You'll never regret it.

  4. Well, here's a few sites that gives you the Mystery and then the Scripture surrounding that Mystery:

    http://www.catholiccompany.com/content/M...

I think this site is more of what you're looking for though:

A great book to read though that truly gives you a full understanding of the Rosary is "The Secret of the Rosary" by St. Louis De Montfort.

Here is part one of his book: http://www.pacifier.com/rosary-center.or... but for the rest of it, I believe you have to order the book (it's like 5 bucks).

    I hope this helps!

  5. If you go onto Youtube and type in the type of mystery you want with the word "rosary" it should read scriptures with it. There was one that I saw that used clips from "Jesus of Nazareth" as a visual reference to go along with the prayer.

  6. There is a book on the rosary with scripture reading for each bead.

  7. Keep praying the Rosary everyday, even if it's only one decade.

There are many websites with a wealth of information pertaining to the Rosary and it's Mysteries.

Just google "Mysteries of the Rosary", and you will be presented with enough possibilities to keep you busy learning for a while.

  8. I've always liked the old fashioned prayer books that give you meditation scriptures and pictures to tell you a thousand words. I've read the book recommended by "Ask me about God" he's right ,it is really good. Cassandra is right too. Prepare to be shocked and appalled by the level of catholic bashing that goes on around here. Pax Christi.

  10. I find this desktop version of the rosary to be very helpful.

As for scripture study, free courses here:

This one is recommended by Catholic apologists:

  11. This is wonderful site created by the Catholic Eternal Word TV Network.  You can explore each mystery in detail:

    http://www.ewtn.com/Devotionals/prayers/...

P.S.  I see you are new to this site.  Please be careful here; this is not generally a good place for serious Catholics to ask questions.  There are bigots here who may try to undermine your faith and use your question as an opportunity to ridicule our Lord and His Church.

    God bless you, too!

  12. You might wish to take a look at the book "The Mystical City of God," by Venerable Mary of Agreda.  It can be found online, and provides many details about the mysteries of the rosary, and events from the lives of Jesus and Mary:

    God bless!

  13. Here's a pretty good one on a Scriptural Rosary:

Edit:  Just so you know, "Pastor A" is not Catholic.

Cassandria's P.S. is very good advice.
