Cats, Dogs and Babies!?

Question

I have a Boston Terrier, Abby, and a Boxer, Zoey. My husband and I actually bought Zoey the week we found out we were expecting!!!

I was terrified to bring my Son home to the dogs. But everything turned out great, they are incredible with the baby!

What have been some of your experiences mixing pets with a new baby? or some of your fears about introducing them for those that are still expecting!

When i had my first son I had a dog named Kiki and she was a shihtzu/chihuahua mix.  She was my baby and spoiled rotten by me.  She was nervous like a chihuahua usually is and she could be snappy so everyone kept warning me to keep her away from the baby.  So I was so scared that i just kept thinking about it.  Well the time came and I had my son and brought him home and she just had to get around him.  I started letting her smell him and stuff.  I found in just a matter of days she had become his protector.  She loved my son and no matter what he did she just layed there and if he cried and i didn't get to him fast enough she would bug me until i did.  I was amazed how this snappy little dog took care of him so well.  She unfortunatly passed away while he was at preschool in April :-( and my son really misses her.

I had 2 dogs and several cats when my my babies came home.  Never had an issue at all.  Animals seem to know that the baby is their human mommy's little one.
