Cats and fleas how to get rid of fleas on my cats and out of my house?

Question

we live in a house with no basement and a lot of sand ,we also have five cats and i need a home remady to get rid of fleas ,we have bomded twice powderd ,sprayed all the cats have flea collers bringing five cats to the vet is pricy and we tryed the frontline from the store nothing seems to work any suggestion would be a help

we are having the same problem at the minute.... we are just hovering everyday .... bathing the cats.... try keep abit out side more, it the weather it perfect breeding season for them....come to winter they wont be there

i saw on DIY network something about sprinkling salt on the carpet and sweeping every day.
