  1. Mine do it all the time! dont worry about it, stick some bells on there collar and that scares animals away b4 they get the, after i while i thought as them as presents lol only thing you can do!

    xx

  2. lol i hope my cat doesnt do that

  3. Nope, they are just giving your 'gifts' it can go on thier whole lives but should die down as they get older

  4. the cats are showing you affection by bringing you presents that should please you to stop them and save the birds put bell collars on them so the birds hear them coming

  5. Your cats are just being the cats that they were born to be...  Cats are meant to eat a raw meat diet or BARF.  Stop feeding them and they will eat the kill instead of leaving their gift on your doorstep.

The word BARF is an acronym for Biologically Appropriate Raw Food.  Every living animal on earth requires a natural and healthy, biologically appropriate diet.

Cats are raw meat eaters in nature.  They are doing what is natural but they need to eat what they kill.  The only way it will stop is to keep them inside the house so they have to eat what you give them only.

    Good luck!

  6. its just their way of showing they love you, they are bringing you a present. aah. I don't think you can stop this.

  7. no, they are trying to please you, to them, bringing u dead animal is like giving u a gift. some cats will do this all their lives.

  8. Ohh god i know that feeling!

Mine used to bring baby birds to the doorstep and kept meowing until i answered the Door, But i got him neuterd and now he doesnt bother to catch bird ... However my other cat is now starting to do it Argh!! lol

Try having your cat neutered (sorry can't spell it lol!) that way they won't roam around as much, marking their terrotory... , your cat obv loves you and they are showing their affection..

Have you changed their diet recently?? because maybe they aren't satisfied with what you're feeding them,

    Hope this helps x

  9. it's suppose to be a gift from them to you.  that'll never stop.

  10. Your cats may do this for the rest of their lives..that is why they should be indoors, not only where they will not harm native wildlife, but where they will be much safer as well.  Indoor cats cannot be hit by cars, poisoned, attacked or eaten by dogs or wild animals, will not get in cat fights resulting in abscess or infection, will not pick up parasites such as worms, ticks, fleas, mites, nor will they pick up infectious disease.  People seem to forget that cats are domesticated animals and no longer have a niche in the ecosystem, so when let out can adversely affect it.  Cats are natural hunters and cannot be trained NOT to hunt, nor should they be punished for hunting. Cats are actually responsible fo the death of millions of migratory songbirds each year just in the US alone.  Scientists are concerned and have started a "cats indoors" campaign:

Also, putting a bell on your cat will not solve the problem..cats learn to stalk without the bell sounding, and birds do not associate a bell with danger.  There is a new product that prevents cats from catching birds on the market..you might want to try this even if it does look a little silly:

  11. Well fluffy loves you so much, he is giving you gifts. Might not sound much like much to you but means the world to them. After all, you are his master.

  12. they are just bringing you the mice and birds to show

    "dad/mum (owner)  hey look what i got aren't i good?" .......

basically they are giving you gifts and showing you respect and they obviously look up to you as alpha/leader!

and not really a way to stop it!x ..

maybe ignoring them though when they do it though .. cos then they might see that if you don't react there is no point in bringing them to you ..

Try it .. any thing's worth a go!

  13. no. i guess god meant for them to do this.... sorry =(

  14. It is a cat's natural instinct to hunt mice and birds. They do it partly to feed themselves, partly because they are natural predators to these animals. It is good for cats to hunt. They keep the sick and hurt animals out of the population and keep the species stronger.

You can try re-locating the mice or birds to another part of your yard, and show the cats where you've put them. (Don't discard them) You may need to repeat this several times, but it may encourage the cats to take them to that location instead of your porch or front door. But you can't "stop" them.

  15. they're just bringing you presents! all the baby birds and mice are easy to catch at this time of year. frogs next!!!

  16. Yeah there's something you can do. . . . . Keep your cats at your house and in the house.

Not only do roaming cats bring home the "presents/gifts" like you are experiencing, they are also destroying other people's pet chickens/ducks and property.

Over the years I have gone through 15 chickens,4 of which died of natural causes BUT 11 that were killed by cats.

Replacing my chickens costs up to $12.00 a chicken whereas you can replace your cat for nothing because there is always a FREE KITTENS notices in newspapers and in fliers hanging on convience store doors because cats breed uncontrollably.

My neighbors can't keep flowerbeds because "Fluffy" goes to their yards to do their potty business. . . if the digging in the flowerbed doesn't get the flowers, the pee does!

We are kept awake at night by those cats who come to our bushes to scream and hollar during mating or we are kept awake by our own dogs barking or neighbors dogs barking uncontrollably because of a cat's night time roaming to dig in garbage cans. . . . . .then we are left with garbage to pick up and rebag.

I recently went out of town and visited a place that requires that all dogs/cats in the city limits be registered and believe me. . . I didn't see or hear one dog or cat because the pet owners are being held responsible for their pets and they are kept on their own property otherwise they can be ticketed and or fined.

I DON'T hate cats but have never owned one because I am allergic to them.  BUT should I ever own one I will do the same thing for them that I do for my dogs. . . . I will be a responsible cat owner.

Cats don't need to be outside unless they are on a leash.  There are way too many things that can hurt/kill a cat if they are allowed to roam.

A house cat is just that. . .  a house cat and should remain in the house.

A friend of mine had a house cat and anytime the front or back door was opened, the cat ran the opposite direction because it was afraid of the outdoors because it had never been outside except on it's trip into the house.

By bringing you "presents/gifts" your cats are asking for your praise  and showing you that they love you. . . .BUT to continue letting them roam there will be one day when one or more of them will not return because it will get stolen or run over. LOVE them back and keep them SAFE!    KEEP  THEM  AT  HOME  and in the house.

  17. You can get one of those collars with a little bell on it. It's not a permenant solution but it will cut down the amount of 'presents' you get. Don't the little buggers look pleased with themselves?

  18. I've got the perfect solution. How about you keep them indoors so that they are happy and healthy and not killing off native wildlife? Genius, isn't it?

  19. ew my friends cat always actually brings frogs ect to her they prob wont stop cause thats what cats do

    Glad mine doesn't lol
