Our kittens' had ear mites, so we have been cleaning their ears twice a day and applying Otomite drops as our vet directed. They are still scratching and shaking their heads after a week of treatment. Their ears look raw, and they have even lost some tufts of ear fur. Is this normal? How can we tell if the ear mites are gone?

  1. Look on the bottle of the stuff you have.. they could be having an allergic reaction to the drops. Raw ears are not good, the drops should be soothing and killing the mites, not hurting the kittens. You can tell the mites are gone when there is no more black junk in there ears.. You should call you vet and tell them about the raw ears..

  2. Take them to the vet and see what is wrong.

  3. Well, it is normal for cats that have ear mites.  Go to the vet and get some Revolution - it will kill fleas, worms, ear mites and other parasites your kitties may have.  It works and is worth the money.

  4. Go back to the vet I would!
