Question:

Cats in my underwear drawer?

Every night, while I am asleep, my cats use their paws to open my underwear drawer. They pull everything out and scatter it all over the floor and then climb in the drawer. Why do they do this and how can I get them to stop??? I catch them doing it and scare them away, but they just do it again. I am sick of tripping over bras and PJ bottoms every morning.

  1. there must be something funky in there....

    might wanna check it out..

  2. THEY LIKE THE SMELL THATS WHY THEY DOO IT

  3. You could probably buy some baby-proofing "locks" or things for that drawer. That way the cats won't be able to open it. Try a store like Babies R Us or Target--I've seen a lot of baby proofing stuff there.

  4. because cats like the smell of fish.

  5. Rinse out a bunch of soda cans and let them dry.  Put a few pennies in each can and put tape over the hole to keep the pennies in.  Balance the cans at the very edge of your dresser in such a way that they will get knocked all to heck if the cats get near them.  After a couple of times of the scary clattering and banging, the cats will probably leave the drawer alone.

Alternately, you could make that the 'cat drawer', since they seem to enjoy it so much, and keep your undies somewhere else.  This is pretty much what I do with my cat, whatever spot he currently likes, that's his bed and I make do.

  6. Hey!

My cats sleep in my underwear draw all the time. I agree, it is VERY annoying tripping on bras every morning. Try maybe putting your underwear in a different place or somewhere they cant reach. If this isnt possible try attaching a lock or a band tied around the draws to keep it safe. This is such extreme meausures just to keep the cats away! But you might want to do this or lock them out of your room. Maybe make them a nice bed somewhere else that they can sleep on. I think they like it because it is soft and warm. But its annoying having black bras covered in ginger fur!

    Hope i can help..

    Xo

  7. If this is new, and its only one cat its probably pregnant, but if this has happened for a while it is just comfertabel. you can try to empty 1 drawer and then put stuff like old pillows and blankets so they like it there.

  8. get a dog....

  9. well cats don'tt like citrus, so if you can get an orangey or citrusish smelling spray, spray it on your drawer and they should leave it alone

  10. Put double-stick tape on the drawers where they put their paws, and it will probably annoy them enough that they will give it up.

  11. Smart cats. Unless you block the drawer it will continue. If this is their favorite sleeping place you might find another drawer for your underware and turn that drawer over to them.

  12. Get a new type of pull that they can't get their paws in/around. And make sure the drawer is closed tight. Either that or move your underwear to another place.

  13. An odd thing to do but you could always just rearrange your drawers, and leave that one empty for the cats.Lol that's so funny. If they are doing no damage, why not just let them?

  14. I love the double side tape idea; as it won't hurt them and they won't like it.

Cats like to be in small places and the drawer probably has your scent on it since it's bras and so forth, so they're attracted to it.  Heck, one of my cats tries to climb into my purse any chance she gets.

They've just bonded to you.  We've domesticated them to the point that they do these strange things.........   Good luck

  15. I have a similar situation, but It was with my mom wearing my underwear.

I just put my underwear in a pillow sack usually underneath my bed or in my closet.

    It works great for humans.
