Cats observe conservation of mass?

I've had my cat for 1 year and I always thought there was a lot of waste material in the litter box... so I decided to weigh it every day. He eats two fancy feast cans per day = 170g and over the last 5 days, the output (solid only) has been 210g/170g/270g/150g/200g. How is this possible?

  1. First of all you need to feed her at least three of those 3 oz cans of fancy feast maybe more if she is bigger.. you need 25 - 30 calories per pound of the cats body weight a day.. those cans of fancy feast are as low as 93 calories a can depending on the type of flavor or gravy or not.. he is out looking for more food Im sure!!

  2. i agree with the last person. your cats been chowin on something you dont know about. neighbors, birds, mice, or even food you leave out. he could be getting into it lol

  3. Your cats being fed by neighbors/wildlife.

And if hes/shes a indoor cat . Did you consider the weight of her daily ration of water? As this will also be added to the waste. All the water it drinks doesnt come out as urine.
