Caucasoid?

I have heard this word used many times on here. What does it mean? It sounds like an insult to white people.

Caucasoid is a term used in anthropology to describe a person whose region of origin is Europe. It's not an insult. The other two terms are negr0id and mongoloid, which are used to describe a person whose region of origin is  Africa or Asia, respectively. They are just very vague ethnic descriptions for a person or group of people, and aren't used too often outside of social sciences such as anthropology  and the like.

Secondly, "Caucasoid" has to do with the Caucasoid mountains, where White people originated.

That's exactly what it is. An offensive way of saying Caucasian, in relation for how many White slave owners used to pronounce ****** as "Negroids" giving the slaves a name (or meaning) other than human. Like a subspecies of being. I think I saw Chiquita use that here yesterday.

It means "Caucasian." It's similar to the term "negr0id" (I can't believe Yahoo won't allow that word) as applied to black African peoples. It's not inherently an insulting term.

Jamie is correct.  Actually, I don't believe this term or it's brothers are in common use anymore.  DNA studies on populations have shown that, for example, sub-Saharan Africans are more closely related (genetically) to Europeans than to Australians (Australians and sub-Saharan Africans traditionally labeled negr0id), while all 3 groups are much more closely related to each other genetically than are the Europeans to Native Americans (formerly both considered Caucasoid).

The Caucasus mountains in present day Turkey was supposedly where the "white - Caucasian race began.  This theory is no longer viable, but the term remains.  It is no more insulting per se than the term Negr*id for the Negr* race.  Although some people of African descent prefer to be called blacks, the term Negr*, Niger, etc are only the words for black in other languages.

I can't believe that they censor "Negr*"  It is a scientific term.
